BACK ON TRACK - BABY STEPS

I am getting some help from a friend to get my schedule back on track. I was just speaking to Mr. Doug about this last night and we both agree that our life is so chaotic that any type of organization would be good. I think I will start in 2 areas:

Menu Planning :

I am going to struggle with this because I never know until Tuesday of the week what to plan for. It depends on what vegetables we pick up for that week since our meals are planned around vegetable dishes, not necessarily meat/protein dishes.

I will finish this week till Tuesday and then my real menus will start on Wednesday of next week. I may also be taking a trip nest week to see my daughter and that will mess me up a little, but I may be able to plan some meals for Doug that he can just put into the oven.

Saturday: Roast corn and grilled chicken

Sunday: Spaghetti and meatballs w/veggies

Monday: Roast Chicken and spinich

Tuesday: Chicken/mushroom soup/ biscuits

OK, we'll see how that goes without changing too much. Saturday will be the most difficult because it depends on what we have planned as far as work aroung the house. I am going to try to do my shopping tonight since we will not be having the youth meeting tonight.

Bible Study Plan:

I would like to read through the Old Testament. I read little bits here and there, but I would like to read chronologically which I haven't done for some time. Here is the web site for the reading guide I will be using. Of course the dates will be different.

I think this will help me with my Sunday School lessons as well, putting things into perspective. I have also lost a lot of what I've learned over the years... you know if you don't use it, you lose it... well that's me for sure. I have taken 3 chemistry courses over the years and taught chemistry for 7 years and already have lost much of that knowledge. I know it would come back if I brushed up a little, but right off the cuff there are probably many questions I could not answer if someone were to give me a test today. I understand why teachers are required to take "refresher" courses, or update their education on a regular basis.

Eventually I will add to the list of things I want to get "back on track" with, but these two areas are controlling some of those so let's start here.

A LITTLE BLESSING JUST CAME MY WAY....

My husband had ordered a part from Twin State Electric and I was to go today and put money on it for him during my lunch break so it could be ordered and then I would have to go again next week Monday to pick it up. It's a hot day today and to get there I'd have to go through an area where they're doing construction which would mean an hour at least there and back.

Well, Twin State Electric just called and they are coming here to deliver the part to me today. He went ahead and ordered it for us and it is already here. He said, that way I don't have to go out during my lunch break... what a guy. What a blessing. Thank you Lord!

Great is the faithfulness of our God!

Hope you have a good day too!

Wow, what a blessing about the guy bringing the part to you!!

And I am so glad that you are finding the back on track ideas helpful. My life is so much less stressful if I can stay on track. It really, really helps! One thing that helps me is to remember that God is a God of order, so surely He would have our lives to be orderly. And another thing that helps me is to remember that living the Christian life is a marathon. We need to keep it up for life. If we try to "wing it" all along the way, we will soon fizzle out because we're just spinning our wheels. Just a couple of thoughts!

I have just been posting about getting organized on my blog. I had a couple of mothers with young children email me and they just can't keep up with everything, which is precisely what drove me to become organized. But now that my kids are getting older and starting to work, I find that life is even more hectic!! So organization always helps us find more time and get things done that need to be, so that we can relax and enjoy the life that God has given us.
I like reading the bible chronologically. I have a chronological bible that I bought a couple of years ago when I started teaching the young girls SS class. It helps to study stuff in the way that it happens. We can all remember it better when we see how one act led to another.
