I have a few things to add today. I should wait till Friday, but it's so exciting. We got our baby ducks yesterday. It was quite an exciting event. I was at work when the post office called and I was supposed to take the bus home after work. I had tried to call Mr Doug to get him to pick me up, but the phone isn't working in the camper and so he didn't pick up the phone. We have extensions all over the place and they all work but not all have ringers.

A friend here had said she would take me to the post office to pick up the box and then drop me off at the bus stop, but ducklings need to be kept warm and it was a cold rainy day.

Finally, at the last minute, Doug called. Apparently to find out what time to pick me up at the bus stop. I told him what was happening. That the ducks had come a day early and so he came right away and got me and our precious cargo. How cute they are... at least right now. I know that they are "livestock" destined eventually for the dinner plate, but right now they are so incredibly cute.

I took a picture last night in their brooder, but it didn't come out too well, so I'll try again and put that picture on Friday for "show and tell", Lord willing.

I also have some other incredible news... concerning the old nasty cart in the picture above. I found a book that gave instructions to build a "Whizbang garden cart" I'll add a link to the sidebar after I get done here. I have wanted to get one of these for a long time, but they are very expensive new and people don't get rid of them very often because they are so easy to use and helpful. Saturday Mr. Doug went to the dump to look for some old metal roofing and when he came back he had this on top of the car. All the hardware is there, the only thing I'll need to do is replace the wood and repair the tires (the rubber is all split). I'm so excited. I'll even have the old wood as a pattern to cut the new pieces. I think this is going to be a job for this Saturday and then I can start hauling the rocks off the hill. I was going to start working on that this spring before all the weeds grew, but never got that far. Now it will be a more difficult job, but it must be done. We want to seed the side of the hill to help with run off and erosion. This dandy cart will make my work a whole lot easier.

Thank the Lord for His many blessings... even when they come from the dump!

Have a great day.

Lots of my blessings have come from the dump over the years... kids' like-new clothes, my strawberry utensil crock, most of my green Colonial Homestead dishes... just to name a few!
