The ducks have also increased in size, though you can't tell too much from these pictures. They nearly fill up their original box... this is a larger one that we gave them so they would have a little more space. The ducks are still under the heat lamp only because they like to go swimming in their drinking water and get all wet then are likely to get chilled. The weather hasn't been that warm.
Soon they will all be living in their mobile coop. One side for ducks and the other for chickens.
Mr. Doug's been working hard on this to get all the poultry established and then get on to other more important projects... such as a place for us to live :)
All done now, it will be moved today into position and Lord willing that project will be history.
We have a fine garden started too. Though the weeds are on the increase, as soon as we can get a couple dry days we'll attack those. We cannot weed the beans while it is wet, they get black spots.
Thank the Lord for all the rain, it has made the plants grow very well. We have had radishes and chard and strawberries (though the rain is not good for the strawberries we'd harvested most of them before the rain), and lots of rhubarb.
I also noticed that all of the forsynthia that we planted last year are coming up. I also bought some day lilies in various colors to plant down at the end of our long driveway by the lamp posts. They will be pretty next year.
Summer is such a wonderful time of the year. Green is my favorite color and you can see why. I think God made the color green especially to keep us all sane.
Psalm 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psalm 52:8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
Song of Solomon 1:16 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
Just a few of probably many "green" verses out there. Hope you have a wonderful July 4th weekend.
